The RidgeStarRidgeStar Mail Server provides several mechanisms that can be utilized and configured to satisfy Client Email requirements. The precise configuration for each Client Domain is listed on the Client SiteSite at Administrator: Email (or equivalent) and can include one or more of the following Types of definitions:

Accountemail
This is a full function IMAP/SMTP account managed and maintained on the RidgeStar Mail Server. You can logon to this Account via the Browser Interface-> or access it through proper configuration of your desktop Mail Client (such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Evolution, etc.). The Mailbox Account name is exactly the same as the associated Email address, as myname@mycompany.com
Aliasalias
This is an additional Email address (at the left of the @ sign) that is directly associated with aspecific Account. An Alias address can be considered to be a synonym for the established Account. Any email sent to the Alias will be delivered to the Account Inbox.
Forwarderforwarder
This is an Email address (at the left of the @ sign) that is immediately rerouted to an alternate destination that may or may not be a RidgeStar email address. This is typically used when you are interested in supporting your own domain's email addresses, but desire them to be forwarded to an alternate address elsewhere, as sales@mycompany.com being forwarded to Bill342918@myisp.com.

A single Forwarder may specify one or more Email destinations.

For RidgeStar billing purposes (RSU computation), the Service identified as IMAP is a reference to the number of Account entries.
