13 December 2012

Today, RidgeStar announces that the formal business relationship between it and the Washington State Referee Committee (SRC) is scheduled to terminate on February 15, 2013 (including support and operation of WASRC.ORG and related mechanisms). The end of service coincides with the end of WASRC's current RidgeStar service period, as specified by the RidgeStar Service Agreement.

RidgeStar sent notification of it's intent to terminate service for WASRC.ORG to the SRC Chair on November 16, 2012 as the result of fundamental differences related to the planning, implementation, and operation of WASRC I.S. projects. Simply stated, RidgeStar requires there be more project planning for I.S. projects than the SRC felt was necessary. It was, at the time, hoped that the notification would produce a positive reaction that would permit the relationship to be re-formed and continued.

Sadly, that has not proven to be the case.

Impact on Chapter Operations

For existing RidgeStar client sites interfacing with WASRC.ORG, the following Site based functions will cease to operate on February 15, 2013 (in addition to the currently operational website at WASRC.ORGGoing):

  1. SRC Synchronization for the User profile (at logon or entry to the Referee Segment)
  2. Chapter based Clinic registration
  3. Chapter based Training processing
  4. USSF Recertification form processing
  5. Experience transfer (for Upgrade purposes)
  6. Token based registration for new Referees

RidgeStar's presumption is that the SRC will put together a plan that will replace these functions and communicate their new approach to the Chapters, Assignors, and Referees throughout Washington State. That said, as of the date of this document, RidgeStar has no direct or indirect knowledge as to what the plans are or how the SRC intends to proceed.

It is our sincere hope that the SRC locates a new Vendor that can and will implement mechanisms that the Chapter sites can utilize to interact with the SRC. Should the interfaces become available, RidgeStar will happily conform and code to the documented interfaces to re-activate the interfaces on the Chapter Sites that are being lost, as well as any additional interfaces that the SRC may choose to adopt and/or implement.

We wish all the best to WASRC and trust that it's future direction will be a positive one for the Game in Washington State.
