26 January 2021

RidgeStar is pleased to announce to all of our Soccer based Webmasters that we've just completed initial testing, verification, and implementation of a new API (Application Programming Interface) to U.S. Soccer'sussoccer Digital Learning Center-> Licensing information.

License Registration and Expiration

USSF now offers the ability (via API) to dynamically retrieve current Licensing information by USSF_ID to verify User specific License registrations and corresponding Expiration dates. This currently includes 66 different Licenses tracked, which we've grouped into the common Roles of Assessor, Assignor, Coach, Educator, Instructor, and Referee, which we call Paths. It also includes support for various specialize Licenses like BackgroundCheck clearance, Beach, Indoor, and Futsal Licenses, as well as Medical and SafeSport certifications.

If you decide to incorporate this mechanism into your Database and Site Operations (Feature=USSF_APIFeature), each Path you elect to monitor will be reflected in 2 different Users table Database fields (1 to hold the specific registered License value and 1 to hold the License's Expiration date).

These Database fields can then be referenced in the appropriate locations throughout the site (e.g. as values in a SelfAssign License Rule).

Dynamic Updates via Webhook

The API also provides what is identified as a "webhook" that will notify us (RidgeStar) when a change has occurred to a License value within USSF.

This means that the License and Expiration dates for the various Paths will be maintained as USSF processes them. As a result of this processing, we expect the delay between USSF Licensing and Registration activity and Chapter License knowledge should be significantly reduced as well as intervention free (meaning, no one at the Site has to "do" anything to keep the License information current).

Interested???

If you are interested in adopting the USSF_API into your RidgeStar Site's operations, contact your Account Representative and ask to have Feature=USSF_API activated on your site for evaluation.
